The Pittston Redevelopment Authority is proud to announce that it has been awarded $150,000 in funding from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) to continue expanding the successful Mod-Home Initiative throughout the Greater Pittston region.
Working in partnership with the NEPA Land Bank Authority, this funding will support the construction of the next Mod-Home at 18 E. Columbus Avenue in Pittston, with a second home planned for Duryea to follow.
The Mod-Home Initiative is helping create new opportunities for local residents by transforming vacant and underutilized properties into quality homes through an innovative rent-to-own model, designed to help area renters become first-time homeowners.
This award represents another important investment in our communities and a continued commitment to increasing homeownership opportunities, strengthening neighborhoods, and creating pathways to long-term stability for local families.
We’re excited to keep building on this momentum and look forward to welcoming more families home in the years ahead
