Pittston Receives $4Million Appropriation In Community Funding For New Mixed-use Development

Yesterday U.S. Representative Matt Cartwright stopped by Pittston’s City Hall to discuss the designations submitted to the Appropriations Committee for the 2023 fiscal year. Included in these projects, is a $4million dollar investment in a mixed-use performing arts center on Main Street in Pittston.

This project, titled Market and Main, will be a huge development for Downtown Pittston and will serve as a theatre, commercial space, Redevelopment and Housing Authority administrative offices, and will provide affordable housing opportunities through our new concept, Project Share. We are extremely excited with this news, and hope to complete this project by the end of 2024.

Redevelopment Authority Executive Director, Joe Chacke, stated “The completion of the Market & Main Project Share will be the single most impactful project completed by the Redevelopment Authority to date. The economic, housing, educational and entertainment impacts will be transformative to the residents and taxpayers of the City and region. We are very excited to work on this project over the next few years and look forward to inviting everyone to enjoy it upon completion.”
